What Happens During a Reiki Session? |
|
During a Reiki session, you will remain fully clothed (except for shoes) and you can choose to lie down on a massage table or sit in a comfortable chair. Through a series of gentle hand positions held for a few minutes just above or on the body, the Reiki practitioner will help balance the body’s natural flow of energy. This energy will flow to wherever it is needed within the body. You may feel heat, tingling or a rise and fall of the energy. You may visualize colors or peaceful scenes. You may even fall asleep! A Reiki session, lasting between thirty and sixty minutes, will create a sense of well-being by decreasing stress, reducing pain and stimulating the brain’s production of endorphins. The immediate effect of Reiki is always positive and very relaxing and you may continue to feel the effects of the session for several days as the body adjusts to the rebalancing of its energy centers. |
